Stress reduction for busy mums

Hi

I wouldn’t have started my book ‘Little Tips and Luxuries for Stressed and Busy Mums’ if things were going smoothly all the time.  I’m now six months in to writing it and although I have sent a synopsis to some agents and have currently written c29,000 words of the book (only c11,000 to go) I haven’t had any time to pick it up in the last three weeks.

Reasons:  lots of them, including working full-time, trying to complete assignment one from my Open University ‘starting with psychology’ course, managing a house and family, head lice and unexpected snow.  Then there’s Christmas including parties for all of us, presents to be bought and wrapped, project deadlines at work, not to mention less sleep because of trying to fit everything in!  Need I go on?  I’d read my book, although I can’t find the time.

On the positive side, I applied a few of my tips in the process, one of them being ‘only do what’s important and don’t let anything get in the way of having fun with the family’  Also the cute little smile on my darling three year old daughter’s face the other day when she said ‘that red top looks lovely on you’ was enough to make me stop in my tracks just to give her a cuddle.
