I didn’t expect to have to do this today, particularly on my day off, but oh well! I thought that I would clean the girls’ bathroom as that’s the only one with the bath in it. That way, I could have a nice relaxing bath later after my decluttering session.
I noticed that the water wasn’t draining properly. Then I recalled that the girls had mentioned this to me a few times, but I kept putting off looking into it. They have long hair, so I knew that there was probably hair down the plug.
The water still wasn’t draining after I cleaned the bath and I did my usual ‘pull the visible stuff out’, so I used the metal waste pipe cleaner that I bought from Amazon the other day (for our kitchen sink) and look what came out? Disgusting I know (and very embarrassing to show it) but the water is draining lovely now.

I’ve cleaned and cleaned and cleaned the bath again, so it’s ready for me later. I’m now going to purchase one of those plug strainers to avoid any recurrences.
Another decluttering job done! Must do something a bit nicer now.
Until next time…
Sandra
Now that is a satisfying decluttering. I have a plastic snake that I use on the tub. I have a round strainer and I still have to unscrew it every now and again and use my plastic snake. Hope you enjoyed your bath in your sparkling tub.
I think I might get one of those plastic snakes, as our metal one gets a bit caught down there and it’s a bit too long. Yes, I really enjoyed my bath, thank you.
