Day 61: I Have Far Too Many Clothes

I’ve mentioned this a few times over the last couple of months, but if my cupboards and drawers weren’t so jam-packed I might hang some of these worn-for-a-couple-of-hours clothes up. I just dump them (sometimes folded nicely and sometimes not so nicely) and it’s a bad habit. Not sure why I get so many items out, but I suppose it depends what I am doing, where I am going and how cold I am.

Untidy pile of clothes

This was clear last week, so I need to break this habit. There’s actually an ottoman seat under there somewhere and I don’t get to sit on it, as I use it as a landing pad for my clothes. I do hang up a lot of stuff, but the more I do that, the less room I have in the wardrobes. It’s definitely time to give some away.

It didn’t take long and it’s all clear now…

Ottoman

In order to achieve the above, I had to shove things in whatever spaces I found in my wardrobes and drawers (no pictures of that for now!)

Some serious clothes decluttering and organisation needs to happen – just not today. I’m too tired. Instead of spending a whole day doing it through, I think I need to break it into bite-sized chunks.

I’ll come up with something during the week. Maybe I’ll start with what is actually in the ottoman!

Until tomorrow…

  1. I always do a purge when the seasons change because it is fresh in my mind what I have worn, you might want to try one drawer at a time now and take out for donation anything you have not worn this season. If you have that many clothes more than likely there will be some. A little at a time.
