It doesn’t take long to clear and clean one area. Faced with this mess in the main bathroom today…
Before decluttering
….I removed the basket of could-be-clean-or-dirty-clothes-I-don’t-know and then threw all of the unused and empty bottles that were around the sink into the bin.
After wiping down the surfaces, sinks and shelves and organising the rest, I was left with a nice tidy area.
After decluttering
It only took about ten minutes leaving me more time for other things.
Until tomorrow…

About Sandra Madeira
I am a full-time working mum with a passion for writing and inspiring others. Subjects I tend to blog about are life skills, parenting, decluttering, worklife balance, etc.
At the moment I am on a decluttering mission creating space in my house, garden and mind. I have challenged myself to do at least ten minutes a day and write about it.
Have a good day!

It might appear that way, but the girls do their own rooms and don’t usually leave anything lying around the rest of the house. My husband enjoys cooking but not so good at the tidying up. My problem is that I’m a bit of a control freak with things lying around, so I like to sort things out myself. Once everything has its place in the house I’ll be much more strict with the lot of them 😊.
I know my husband usually cleans up after I cook, but I am never pleased with the results (too picky I guess). My kids are now 35 and 30 so it has been a bit since I have had them in the house to clean up after so I shouldn’t talk. They had their chores as I am sure yours do too and I let my standards slide with them. Now that it is just the two of us it is easier to keep things tidy and clean.
I bet it is easier being just the two of you. I know that I’m going to miss my girls being around when they eventually leave. I Hope your children are safe wherever they are
I don’t mean to criticize but are you the only one who puts things away?
