I can feel the sun burning on my legs as I type this. I had an hour or two in the garage this afternoon so thought it was time to come outside and enjoy the sun. Having been out for a brisk walk this morning, as well as having my fix of decluttering and tidying this afternoon, I was ready to sit outside and relax.
This got me thinking… why am I fine to relax now but earlier on this morning, I wasn’t interested? It’s purely because I am the sort of person who wants to improve myself and my surroundings every day and I can’t wait to get on with it when I wake up. I also love to learn, love to create space and love to get things done.
I want to sit down and read books but I also want to declutter. So, I listen to audio books whilst I declutter. Not quite the same, but the information is still going in. Audio books motivate me just like the music does. Sometimes music is the right thing, but when I’m in learning mode, I switch on an audio book instead to see what I can pick up.
Today I switched on How Not to Die by Michael Greger. It’s the second time I’ve listened to this book and I’m picking up more this time around. I learnt so much about eating healthily, that it stopped me reaching for the biscuits to go with my cup of tea when I came back into the house.
My progress today
From my time in the garage today, I collected another bag of rubbish and reorganised a few more shelves. I have a joint of beef in the slow cooker ready for dinner, and I’m looking forward to relaxing this evening with the family before the working week begins.
Hope you’re all having a happy and pleasant day doing things you love to do.
Until tomorrow…
Sandra
I relax after a job is done, so I can really enjoy it, not be thinking about things that still need doing
I absolutely agree
I relax after a job successfully done.
Thank you for commenting. Yes, that does seem to be what most people do, it’s like giving yourself a reward
