Today I had to take my eldest to the orthodontist and the whole afternoon was taken up by this one event. I left the house at 1.30pm having had a busy morning of work calls and a quick bite to eat. I didn’t arrive home until around 5.30pm.
It’s only around an hour each way but the rest of the time was taken up with waiting at the school, sitting in traffic, waiting around at the hospital for the appointment and then she had to have photos taken of her mouth because of a couple of concerns that they have. Driving back home in the dark made the journey seem longer for some reason.
I then had to run a few errands including picking up a prescription and doing a bit of shopping. By this time I was feeling exhausted and did a couple of silly things like walking away from the cash machine only to hear the beeps and realising that I hadn’t taken the cash out. I then walked into Asda without a shopping basket and as it was only a one way door, I had to go out and come back in again!
I just wasn’t feeling myself and knew that my body needed a rest. It knows better than I do! I also needed a cup of tea and a piece of chocolate as I usually have that treat around mid-afternoon.
My mind can sometimes be a reflection of some of the rooms in the house
Whilst I was drinking my tea I remembered that someone wanted to buy a dressing up outfit that I had advertised but as I have so much stuff lying around due to the renovation work, I couldn’t remember where I’d put it. By the time I’d turned things upside down in the garage, dining room and study, I was feeling a little irritated that things are still so unorganised. I think I made more mess than actually clearing up today. It made me want to clear it all there and then but I didn’t have time.
I sat for few moments and thought that it must be in the garage, so I went back in and found it almost instantly. Things are usually where I first think they are – I just wasn’t looking properly.
Luckily for me, I had a massage booked this evening and it couldn’t have been more perfect timing. I had the most wonderful hour being pampered at SAKS. My little treat to myself 😀.
Until tomorrow…
