Day 66: Purchases Waiting to be Returned Are Temporary Clutter

Slippers to be returned

I bought myself some new comfy slippers a couple of weeks ago. I ordered two colours to see which I preferred.

I kept these beige ones…

Comfy slippers

…and left the unwanted ones sitting around waiting to be returned. Another habit I need to kick (I nearly always wait until the last possible date to return things).

Taking action

At lunchtime today, I boxed up the unwanted ones and took them to the local drop off point. It felt good getting the returns receipt knowing that it was something else out of the house and money almost back on the credit card.

… and yes, I got rid of the old tatty slippers that are no good for anyone. I basically wore them until the soles came off 😊.

One item in and one item out.

Until tomorrow…

About Sandra Madeira

I am a working mum and entrepreneur with a passion for writing, coaching, mentoring and inspiring others. Subjects I tend to blog about are life skills, parenting, decluttering, worklife balance, career etc. I’ve been on a decluttering mission for years creating space in my house, garden and mind. In 2020 I challenged myself to declutter every day for a whole year and write about it daily. After that success I took on a challenge to change my career from accountant to life coach, and in early 2024 set up my own company. I continue to keep up with the decluttering, and now write daily about my home life and coaching business. Have a good day!
