Day 102: Decluttering the Final Corner of the Conservatory and Re-sorting Rubbish Bags (Who Else Does That?)

I got up earlier than usual this morning and before anyone had even got up, I had moved everything from the final corner of the conservatory so that I could clean it. I then started rearranged the furniture again.

There were two rubbish bags by the door that I know I didn’t bag up. Have you ever gone through rubbish bags that the children have filled from their rooms? At a glance I knew that they contained items other than rubbish, for example, recycling, items that could go to charity, blank paper, hair brushes, etc.

I even found an old £10 note in an envelope addressed to my daughter that said ‘only to open in an emergency’. I said out loud ‘finders keepers’. She jokingly took the envelope from me saying that it was hers until she realised that, being an old note, it would need a visit to the bank to pay it in.

I have been busy all day pottering around the house and garden and relaxing in the sun as well. Here’s where I got to:

Until tomorrow…

About Sandra Madeira

I am a working mum and entrepreneur with a passion for writing, coaching, mentoring and inspiring others. Subjects I tend to blog about are life skills, parenting, decluttering, worklife balance, career etc. I’ve been on a decluttering mission for years creating space in my house, garden and mind. In 2020 I challenged myself to declutter every day for a whole year and write about it daily. After that success I took on a challenge to change my career from accountant to life coach, and in early 2024 set up my own company. I continue to keep up with the decluttering, and now write daily about my home life and coaching business. Have a good day! 1. How come you moved your desk from facing the window? I have tried it both ways and really like facing out the window better, plus I don’t get sun glare on my computer screen. You are busy and yes I have gone through trash bags to pull out recycling until I educated my husband on what can be recycled and what can’t.

    • I do like facing the window but unfortunately the sun was heating up the equipment and if I shut the blinds I couldn’t see the garden anyway. My husband came up with the idea of putting it in the corner. It also means that I can put the plants in the sun. We’ll see how it goes, I might end up moving it back.
