In my last post I mentioned a damp patch on my kitchen ceiling and the possibility that it could be coming from one of the two rooms above. Our plumber is going to use his camera to look through the nearest kitchen light fitting but can’t book us in until next week.
Before I knew that this was the approach he was going to take, I started clearing the study (room above) and put the sofa on its side in case he needed to check under the floorboards. We’ve also stopped using the main bathroom.
So, even though it’s not looking like there is any urgency to fix the leak (as it’s not getting any worse) it is encouraging me to clear the clutter quicker. The study is feeling much clearer because I had yesterday morning off and made some progress with papers and other bits and bobs.
Anticipating that the plumber might have to remove some tiles in the main bathroom, I’ve also been tidying and cleaning the area where the cleaning products live and made a note that I need some sort of cupboard or closed container to put these in. I also moved things, wiped under the baskets and cleaned the floor right into the corner. That’s all looking much now clearer too.
Today, this motivated feeling of clearing was extended to working on the stuff by the back door which had been bugging me for a while. I didn’t finish it but I made good progress.
So, this leak (that may end up being nothing serious at all) is moving me forward. I’m not even rushing myself to do it, I’m just taking my time.
Hope you’re all having a good weekend.
Until tomorrow…
Sandra
Hi Sandra,
Happy Women’s Days!🌿
Thank you, and thanks for commenting 😊
I always got motivated by company coming over or a contractor employed to do something.
Yes, sometimes we need these little nudges
It is like today, I am having solar installed today and they are supposed to come between 7-9 so today is not a day where I hang out in my pjs!
