It started with a cup of tea in bed, a present hunt from my girls and then a surprise breakfast of fruits and pastries. Being my birthday, I was thinking of having today off from decluttering. That was until these large boxes turned up this morning and the packaging took over the kitchen… and you know how much I can’t resist a bit of clearing up and recycling 😊.

So, here’s what was inside… My husband bought me three citrus plants (lemon, lime and orange) and a rose plant. They were beautifully packaged and dropped off by courier this morning which was a lovely surprise and totally unexpected knowing how difficult it is to order things at the moment.

He bought them so that I could put them in the conservatory or dining room and then in warmer months move them outside. Apparently they will blossom until the end of summer. They smell gorgeous too.
My husband and girls then thoroughly spoilt me more and spent about four hours in the kitchen cooking. Here are a selection of photos from today…

Also worth mentioning was a Skype call with my mum and dad so that they could wish me happy birthday and I could open their present which was a beautiful leather notebook; other phone calls and messages from friends and family; many cards through the post; and a special ‘sunrise’ birthday video from my brother and his fiancée.
So, even though I didn’t get to go away on my birthday like I usually do, it was thoroughly enjoyable. The weather was warm too.
Until tomorrow…
Sandra

Thank you Maria x
Wow, what a lovely day. Your husband was right about the conservatory, those citrus tree will thrive out there. Your family pulled out all the stops, and it was all well thought out.
Yes, I’m very grateful. I’ll be writing about the clearing up later, ha ha, it’s taken a while today
Happy belated birthday 🎂
